Trump Breaks 40% Barrier with Jewish Vote in Several States; 46% in New York

President-elect Donald Trump won more than 40% of the Jewish vote in several states and is seemingly insurmountable on the strength of his support for Israel and proven commitment to combating anti-Semitism. I broke down the wall.

The results did not fully confirm polls during the campaign that showed Mr. Trump won 50% of New York's Jewish vote, but suggested that Mr. Trump was close to that number.

Estimating the Jewish vote is notoriously difficult due to small sample sizes, but pre-election polls show that Jews overwhelmingly say Israel and anti-Semitism are their top issues. Trump was expected to win the majority. But it is a minority among American Jews.

Although it was never expected that Trump would win a Jewish majority, Jewish voting movements in several key states, particularly Pennsylvania, Arizona, Michigan, and Nevada, have pushed these states toward Trump. It was expected that there would be a possibility of tilting.
