Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was depressed and tearful Wednesday as she awaited defeated Vice President Harris' concession speech.
Pelosi arrived at Howard University on Wednesday afternoon and was photographed tearfully greeting Harris supporters.
In one particularly emotional photo, Pelosi pouted and appeared to be on the verge of tears, her eyes watering. Other photos showed Pelosi smiling and interacting with attendees at the event.
Harris' concession speech came after a historically close presidential election ended early Wednesday morning in favor of Trump. The election was expected to be close, but the extent of Trump's victory shocked both sides of the political spectrum.

Ms. Pelosi and Mr. Trump harbor deep animosity toward each other and regularly insult each other in public. In a speech this week in Grand Rapids, Michigan, President Trump described Pelosi as someone who “starts with a B.”
“She's evil, she's sick, she's crazy…” the Republican candidate said, pausing. “It starts with B, but I won't say it. I want to say it.”
Pelosi has taken jabs at Trump in the past, most recently claiming during an appearance on MSNBC that Trump was suffering from “cognitive decline.”
Harris will not speak from Howard University on election night as planned.

In response, the Trump campaign insulted Pelosi in a statement to Fox News Digital.
“The only thing that's getting worse is Nancy Pelosi, a decrepit, washed-up, corrupt politician that America can no longer tolerate,” said Caroline Leavitt, the Trump campaign's national affairs spokeswoman. “She returned to the city of San Francisco, which she completely destroyed, and should never return.”
