Entertainer Bette Midler has deleted her social media accounts after joking that she would drink drain cleaner if former President Donald Trump won the election.

The famous singer has been a vocal critic of Trump and his supporters. In one bizarre episode in September, Midler tweeted a conspiracy theory suggesting the former president was not actually shot during the first assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania. She also accused President Trump of calling on his supporters to kill Taylor Swift based on her criticism of Vice President Kamala Harris' endorsement of her presidential candidacy.
Midler posted on social media that she was watching the election, then referenced Trump's victory, then deleted her account. The meme she posted showed a champagne bottle with a note that read, “Kamala wins,” and a Dreno bottle with a note that read, “Trump wins.”
The celebrity was ridiculed and ridiculed by Trump supporters for leaving X.

Trump is expected to win the electoral college and is close to winning the popular vote. He has made impressive gains in nearly every state, and Republicans are also expected to flip the U.S. Senate from Democratic control.
