A ‘Life-saving’ Election Result for Jews Who Care About Israel

Former White House press secretary Ari Fleischer said President-elect Donald Trump's victory in the 2024 presidential election was a “life-saving” victory for Jews who care about Israel.

Fleischer participated in a Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC) press conference on Wednesday. The RJC is a group that has played a vital role in raising money for Trump and other Republican candidates, supporting pro-Israel policies within the Republican Party, and winning back Jewish votes. .

RJC cited FOX News exit polls showing Trump won 32% of the Jewish vote, a historically high percentage, higher than any Republican since Ronald Reagan in 1980. (RJC said one exit poll conducted by another network found President Trump's Jewish approval rating was only 21%, and the sample size was small because it excluded several states with large Jewish populations.) .

Jewish voters were driven by many concerns, but those who cared deeply about Israel and were most concerned about anti-Semitism were more likely to vote Republican.

(Israelis also supported Trump by a wide margin in polls released in the days leading up to the election.)

Matt Brooks, CEO of RJC, told reporters that the group is running ads that specifically target Jewish voters, and that even if they have traditionally voted Democratic, they will not vote for Trump. He said he was sending a consistent message that everything was okay.

One ad featured a group of middle-aged Jewish women speaking in a diner booth and expressing their concerns about Israeli terrorism and anti-Semitic violence on college campuses.

RJC also opened doors in battleground states, particularly Nevada, which flipped from Republican to Republican for the first time since President George W. Bush's reelection in 2004 in the wake of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Mr. Brooks also said Mr. Trump's track record of advancing the cause of Middle East peace by supporting Israel's security, rather than putting pressure on it, has won over Jewish voters as well as Arabs and Muslims. He also pointed out that they were successful in attracting people.

update: Trump defeated Harris, an Orthodox Jew who turned out in droves to support the former president.
