Ja Morant exits with hamstring injury after scary Grizzlies fall

Jay Morant left Wednesday's win over the Lakers early with a hamstring injury, but the issue didn't seem to worry him too much.

The Grizzlies missed an alley-oop when attempting to drop a dunk off a lob pass, but it ended up going over the rim.

However, he missed the ball and fell hard to the floor.

Los Angeles picked up the loose ball and the play quickly moved to the other side of the court.

Ja Morant fell on his way to the hoop.

Morant was slow to stand up and limped off the floor before descending the tunnel.

The Grizzlies initially said Morant's return was questionable due to a hamstring issue, but the Memphis star never returned to the game.

When Morant was asked about the injury by reporters after the game, he said, “I'm fine,” but added, “We'll know when Griz PR tweets it.” According to Drew Hill of the Daily Memphian.

Morant had 5 assists and 4 rebounds, scoring 20 points in the win.

It's unclear whether he will play in Friday's game when the Grizzlies play the Wizards.

Morant made his presence felt in a head-to-head with NBA superstar LeBron James, even picking up a technical foul after Morant appeared to intentionally hit James after a big basket.
