Federal military draft agency reposts message suggesting US is becoming 1936 Nazi Germany: report

The federal agency responsible for registering Americans for the draft, if necessary, reportedly reposted a message suggesting the United States is becoming Nazi Germany in 1936.

“You idiots who still believe military service is voluntary. Remember Germany in 1936,” said a post shared by the Selective Service System on its X account on Wednesday. New York Post. The repost remained on the station's account for more than an hour before being deleted, the paper said. The Selective Service System did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital on Thursday.

The message comes as Democrats and opponents of President Donald Trump have been trying in recent weeks to position the next president as the second coming of Nazi leader Adolf Hitler.

Late in the election, Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Walz, the governor of Minnesota, repeated Hillary Clinton's attack that President Trump's rally at New York City's Madison Square Garden mirrored the events of the Nazis in the 1930s. Ta.

The post, said to have been shared by the Selective Service System, appears to refer to Hitler's decision to reintroduce conscription in Germany in March 1935, a move the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum says violates the Treaty of Versailles. He claims that it is the opposite.

According to the museum, the following year, Hitler “ordered the German Army (Wehrmacht) to enter the demilitarized Rhineland.”

The Selective Service states on its website, “Although there is no draft plan at this time, enrollment in the Selective Service is the most publicly visible peacetime option to ensure operational readiness in a fair and impartial manner. If approved by the President and Congress, our agency will rapidly provide resources to the Department of Defense while offering alternative service programs to conscientious objectors.

It added: “Federal law requires nearly all male U.S. citizens and male immigrants between the ages of 18 and 25 to enroll in the Selective Service.”

“The Fake News Washington Post came up with the ridiculous idea that Donald J. Trump would call for mandatory military service,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social account in June.
