According to Google Trends data, searches for “immigrate to Canada” spiked in the U.S. around 6 a.m. Wednesday, the same day Trump was declared president-elect. The top five states leading the way were Vermont, Maine, Oregon, New Hampshire and Minnesota, all of which were expected to be won by Harris.

Related queries that saw a significant increase in search volume include “Cost to immigrate to Canada from the United States,” “How to immigrate to Canada without money,” “How to get a Canadian visa,” and “How to immigrate to Canada.” It included “Do you want to do it?” Canadian Citizens” and “Jobs in Canada for Americans.”

The increase was limited to a small amount.
