The White House held the first press conference since Donald Trump's election victory.
Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters Thursday that the outgoing administration will focus on keeping the government open and hurricane relief, among other things.
He also asserted that his administration will continue its efforts to end the war in Gaza, secure the release of hostages, and resolve the situation in Lebanon.
Asked by reporters about Joe Biden's possible involvement in Kamala's defeat, Jean-Pierre said whether the president felt responsible or whether he regretted his decision to withdraw from the race. He declined to comment explicitly.

“The president understands that he respects the will of the people. That's what he understands. He understands that the American people have decided and he's going to respect that. “I believe I made the right decision when I stepped out, stepped aside, and decided not to run,” she said. “And you can't rewrite history.”
Jean-Pierre's comments came amid internal conflict with Democrats, with some of Harris' allies demanding the president be held accountable.
