Political commentator Anand Giridharadas said Friday on MSNBC's “Morning Joe” that Democrats need a “feminist” version of Joe Rogan's podcast.
Giridharadas said, “When someone goes through a traumatic experience, we know what to do. We go to a counselor or a therapist, we probably take medication. The whole country is traumatized. When you have an experience like that, it's exactly It's called life. Our country and the world as a whole went through a traumatic experience. That's when my kindergartener went to school wearing a mask. I'm really glad I had this, but my kindergartener's parents The same goes for not being able to recognize your friend's face, because at six years old you're not good enough to recognize eyes. A huge amount of mental health challenges have been unleashed. And you're right that when you experience such a traumatic event, it's in your blood in a way that historians and sociologists can understand. I don't think I'm in a position to understand that right now.”
He added: “The media ecosystem in particular is never good. It's negative, it's a radicalization funnel. What they did in the online media ecosystem is what extremist groups around the world are doing. It's about building a radicalization engine that frees people from their low-level frustration with the world of, “Why are eggs so expensive?” Why are my kids learning things in school that I didn't? And then, via You Tube videos and podcasts, we move from annoyance to full-on fascist politics. This is an elaborate multibillion-dollar infrastructure, and there is nothing comparable on the pro-democracy side. When a man is lost and alone and hasn't yet been radicalized, we don't have a Joe Rogan or a Jordan Peterson to guide him in a feminist direction. ”
