In most states, a simple majority is required to pass a constitutional amendment, but in Florida, which required 60% support, Amendment 4 narrowly failed with 57% support.

This election cycle, 10 states had abortion on the ballot, and of those 10, Amendment 4 was the most expensive. Even that dwarfed The state's Senate race between incumbent Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) and Rep. Debbie Mucarsel Powell (D-Fla.) ranks among the top 10 most expensive Senate races of the year. It was in. According to To open secret.

Nearly $131 million in total was raised for Amendment 4, including $119 million in support of the amendment and $12 million in opposition. According to Open Secrets data was last updated on November 1st.

Overall, pro-abortion committees raised $305 million, while committees opposed to the measure raised $96 million. Abortion measures themselves accounted for nearly one-third of the funds raised by ballot committees this season, according to an Open Secret review.

Open Secret noted that support for the Fourth Amendment is “led by liberal underground finance groups.”

Florida is notable for being the first state to reject an abortion bill since the Supreme Court's reversal. Roe vs. Wade Nebraska and South Dakota will follow in 2022.

“Florida's blueprint proves that strong, vocal leadership that publicly stands up for what's right in the face of arrows can defeat Soros-backed black-financed out-of-state abortionists. I did,” Fenske said. “Florida has shown that truth and reason can persuade voters, educate them about the dangers of the Fourth Amendment, and expose their motives for undermining American families.”

Prior to this election cycle, every pro-abortion ballot measure since the fall of 2016; egg It was successful. During the 2022 special election, Kansas rejected a ballot measure that would have excluded abortion rights from the state constitution. During the 2022 midterm elections, voters in California, Michigan, and Vermont codified abortion into their constitutions. At the same time, voters in Montana rejected a ballot measure that would have given rights to babies born alive after botched abortions. Kentucky voters also rejected an amendment similar to Kansas'. Last November, Ohioans also voted to codify the right to abortion into the state constitution.

Voting measures are particularly effective as attack vectors because they are essentially irreversible. That means it changes the state constitution, overrides laws passed by the state Legislature, and can only be overturned by another ballot measure or a lengthy court battle. Supporters of these measures are typically well-funded left-wing organizations and affiliates such as Planned Parenthood and the ACLU, out-of-state underground finance groups, billionaires with eugenicist leanings, and often pro-life They spend a huge amount of money, exceeding that of other organizations.

The Fourth Amendment would eliminate the state's six-week abortion limit and essentially create a permanent right to abortion within the state. This abortion measure basically allowed abortion during pregnancy under certain conditions.

The Fourth Amendment would have prohibited states from restricting abortions before the term of life, after about 24 weeks of pregnancy, or later “based on the judgment of the patient's health care provider.”

There it was written:

No law shall prohibit, penalize, delay, or restrict abortion before viability or when necessary to protect the health of the patient in accordance with the judgment of the patient's health care provider. This amendment does not change Congress' constitutional authority to require parents or guardians to be notified before a minor obtains an abortion.

If the amendment passes, Florida would become a destination for abortions, and surrounding states would likely have significant restrictions on first-trimester abortions.
