On Friday's CNN News Central broadcast, Rep. James Clyburn (D-S.C.) said President Joe Biden “has had a great presidency,” including Vice President Kamala Harris. “But perhaps this country is not ready for that yet.” Elect women as leaders. ”
Clyburn said: His record is excellent. The economy is booming like no other economy in the world. So all the people who were saying, “People weren't up for it'' didn't think so. Probably not. And the question is, why didn't you do that? I don't know if Joe Biden is responsible for people's feelings. He had the responsibility of putting together a government and he did that and put great people in his job. He did that as well… They were very productive. But misinformation, disinformation, and all sorts of other things are happening in this campaign and will be part of the political process going forward. This is probably the first time this has been said so clearly. But it happened in 2016, it happened in 2020, it happened in 2024, and it will happen four years from now. So what we need to do is address how we combat this kind of disinformation and misinformation in the future. ”
He added, “I spoke to quite a few African American men during this campaign, and I can tell you they had all kinds of bad information. They believed what they saw on the Internet, but… , we didn't do what we should have done to counter them all, and we're probably not as well-equipped at the moment to counter them as we will be next time. I hope that no African American has to be disappointed in the Biden administration. …Consider all the bills that have been passed and all the bills that are coming out of this administration. There's nothing negative about her, and her presence as a person of color, as a woman, and as a member of this administration. I mean, everything was positive and maybe in this country. may not yet be ready to elect women to leadership positions.
