Frankie Muniz limps to ambulance after multi-truck crash during NASCAR race: ‘Hard hit’

Frankie Muniz remains positive after limping away from a multi-vehicle crash during Friday's NASCAR race.

The 38-year-old actor turned professional racing driver was involved in an accident at Phoenix Raceway while competing in the Craftsman Truck Series Championship in Avondale, Arizona.

In the aftermath of the accident, sportswriter Noah Lewis shared a video of Muniz that showed the “Malcolm Inside” alum limping and bending over as he was loaded onto a truck into an ambulance. Ta. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Ruiz wrote that Muniz was “hit hard.”

After the race, Muniz told reporters he was “okay,” adding that the crash was “unfortunate.”

“I felt like I had a good opportunity to run with some guys,” Muniz said in a clip shared by X.

He continued, “I made some passes. I lost some places on the restart, then went back and passed again. So it was good for me to figure out how to get around people. Look, I didn’t do very well.’ That’s all I’ve been doing this year, so it’s been really positive.”

“And we just wanted to keep going, keep running, but we had nowhere to go and we got hit from behind,” Muniz explained. “No. 42 hit me from behind and then No. 42 moved and No. 18 stopped right there and I rammed into him. But I feel like there was nothing I could have done there. That was a blessing in disguise. It was a terrible situation.''I should have been able to overcome it, but it's a shame. ”

But Muniz is already looking ahead to the 2025 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season, where he will compete full-time in the No. 33 Ford F-150 for the Rohm Brothers Racing team. Ta.

This season, he joined the Rohm brothers and participated in several races as driver of the No. 27 F-150.

“I'm very grateful to the team,” Muniz said. “And I'm very excited about next season. This year wasn't what we wanted, but this proves that I can race with the guys and pass here. Next year will be even better. I'll be ready all offseason. ”

In an appearance on Fox & Friends last month, Muniz expressed his excitement at being promoted to full-time driver next season.

“It's unbelievable, it feels like a dream come true,” he said. “It's something I've always wanted to do and I'm excited about the fact that I can actually announce that I'm going to do it full-time next year. I can't wait.”

He also said, “If I'm going to do this, I want to give myself 100 percent. I'll do everything I can to prepare for the race and be the best racing driver.”

Asked about taking a break from acting to focus on racing, Muniz admitted: “I can't say it was a difficult decision.”
