Florida State Fires Multiple Coaches Amid Horrendous 1-9 Season

Massive changes are occurring in Tallahassee.

It's probably time for some cleaning for the Florida State Seminoles. Head coach Mike Norvell has fired offensive coordinator and offensive line coach Alex Atkins, defensive coordinator Adam Fuller, and receivers coach Ron Dugans. The move took place on Sunday.

The firing came a day after the Noles lost their sixth straight game. 52-3 overwhelming road loss against Notre Dame. It was the third consecutive loss for Florida State by at least 20 points. The Seminoles, currently 1-9, are coming off their worst season since 1974, when they finished 1-10, two years before the iconic Bobby Bowden took over as head coach.

“I am grateful for the work these three have done for me over the past five years at Florida State,” Florida State head coach Mike Norvell said in an official statement. “They're all great people with families and are very involved in our program. We've had a lot of great moments together here, and I'm proud of the players. and I have never doubted their passion for Florida State University.”

Ah… the goal Mike Norvell will set for himself if the Noles don't return to a championship next year…
