President-elect Donald Trump said his former acting director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Tom Homan, will serve as “border czar” in the next administration.
“I am pleased to announce that former ICE Director and border control heavyweight Tom Homan will be joining the Trump Administration in charge of our nation's borders,” Homan said late Sunday on his site Truth Social. I wrote this.
Homan was widely expected to be given a role related to border issues and President Trump's promise to launch the largest deportation operation in the country's history.
In addition to overseeing the southern and northern borders and “maritime and air security,” President Trump has announced that Homan will “stop all deportations of illegal aliens to their countries of origin,” which is central to his agenda. I will be in charge.''
He said he had “no doubt” that Homan “will do a great and long overdue job.”
Such roles do not require Senate confirmation.

In an interview on Fox News Channel's “Sunday Morning Futures,” Homan said the military would not round up or arrest illegal immigrants in the country and urged ICE to carry out President Trump's plan in a “humane manner.” He said it would move.
“This will be a targeted, deliberate operation carried out by ICE members. The men and women of ICE do this every day. They're good at it,” he said.
“Once we get out there, we'll know who we're looking for. We probably know where they're going and it's going to be done in a humane way.”
