“As Vice President Harris has said repeatedly, including at the convention, we knew going into the election, the election is close and will be close,” Jeffries said.

“At the end of the day, I think the popular vote is going to be a close one,” Jeffries said. “Because everything broke down at the presidential level regarding Donald Trump's direction, we're going to see an outcome in the electoral system that most people on the Democratic side didn't expect.
