William McGinley tapped as Trump’s White House Counsel

President-elect Trump announced that William McGinley will return as White House advisor.

“I am pleased to announce that William Joseph McGinley will serve as my White House Counsel,” the appointment announcement reads.

In an announcement Tuesday night, President Trump said McGinley played a “huge role” in winning the election as outside counsel for election integrity for the Republican National Committee.

“Bill is a smart and tenacious attorney who will help us advance America First policies while protecting election integrity and opposing the weaponization of law enforcement,” the announcement said. There is.

White House Counsel typically plays an important behind-the-scenes role in vetting Supreme Court nominees and nominees.

Trump has already selected three Supreme Court justices in his first term, and if he wins two more in his second term, he will appoint a majority of the justices.

Mr. McGinley served as White House Cabinet Secretary during the first Trump administration and as general counsel for the National Republican Senatorial Committee.

Before entering politics, he was a partner in two international law firms.
