Mississippi State Trooper Brutally Punches Fan Who Got Too Close to Lane Kiffin

The Ole Miss Rebels shocked the college football world on Saturday with a come-from-behind victory over then-No. 3 Georgia, with fans rushing to the field to celebrate.

However, one of the fans got too close to Rebels head coach Lane Kiffin and ended up getting punched by a state trooper for his troubles.

Two Mississippi State troopers tasked with guarding Kiffin shook hands with Georgia head coach Kirby Smart before standing in front of hysterical fans as thousands of fans flocked to the field at Vought-Hemingway Stadium. They faced a difficult task trying to escort the coach through the waves.

At least one Ole Miss fan got too close to the coach and was fisted by the long arm of the law.

The fan enthusiasm on Saturday was unparalleled. The scene was flooded even before the incident involving state troopers occurred. The delay was necessary because Ole Miss students began to invade the field with 16 seconds left in the game, requiring officials and security to clear the field. Then, a second rush occurred as the allotted time expired.

Week 12 College Football Playoff rankings have not yet been released as of this writing. But with the win, Ole Miss jumped from No. 16 to No. 10 in the Associated Press poll, while Georgia State dropped from No. 3 to No. 11.
