Caitlin Clark set to take swing at golf in LPGA pro-am

Caitlin Clark will take part in the pro-am at Pelican Golf Club on Wednesday ahead of Annika and will take a golf swing.

Clark will play on the front nine alongside Nelly Korda, currently the world's best female golfer, who has already won the LPGA Tour's Player of the Year award. She would then play on the back nine with the legendary Annika Sorenstam, who retired from the full-time circuit in 2008.

“I've been trying to practice as much as I can,” Clark said Tuesday at the LPGA Women's Leadership Summit. “I'm just an average golfer. Some hits are good, some are bad. I just try not to hit anyone standing outside the rope. But it'll be fun.”

The Indiana Fever star is fresh off a WNBA Rookie of the Year season and put together arguably one of the best first seasons in league history.

Caitlin Clark says she was concerned about Hurricane Milton's damage to Florida.

After the Fever lost in the playoffs, she joked that she might take up professional golf in the offseason. At the time, Clark had been playing basketball for several months straight starting in November 2023. It appeared that he had no intention of participating in the unrivaled 3-on-3 league that was about to begin.

It's like she started playing golf as a joke.

“I've been trying to get as much time as possible to practice, but my hopes are limited. I just have to shut up and pray,” she said at the leaders summit. “No, I practiced a little bit. I just heard the word I was going to be a professional golfer. Everyone thought I was serious, but I wasn't serious. I love it. I love competing with my friends.”
