WASHINGTON, DC – President-elect Donald Trump met with House Republicans at the Capitol on Wednesday morning to begin a busy day in Washington, DC.

“Wouldn't it be nice to win? I'm happy to win,” President Trump said at the beginning of his remarks.
He went on to ask if Republicans were aiming for a four- or five-seat majority, before insisting, “That's not the point,” referring to the razor-thin majority Republicans have to contend with this Congress. I joked. .
“Once you get used to one thing, you can get used to anything,” he says.
Trump went on to add that Republicans' success in purple states last Tuesday and momentum in blue states is unsettling Democrats.
“That's what worries them so much, because they say, if we go up a fraction of what we go up next, you're going to beat New York, you're going to beat New Jersey. You guys will do that.’ We were able to win places where we couldn’t win,” he added.

Axios' Congressional reporter Julie Grace Brufke, citing sources, reported that Trump at one point praised House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana).
“Mike Johnson, a great guy. I'm with him forever!” Brüfke said a source quoted Trump as saying.
Melanie Zanona of Punchbowl News also reported that Trump said he will be with Johnson “forever.”
Mr. Zanona and CNN's Manu Raju also reported separately that Mr. Johnson appears to have no opponent for the speaker's gavel and could win the nomination today.
