Fetterman bashes Gaetz nomination for attorney general

Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pennsylvania) called President-elect Trump's choice of Rep. Matt Gaetz to be his next attorney general a “god-level act of vandalism.”

In an interview with reporters, Fetterman acknowledged that some of Trump's picks were good, but stopped short of putting Gaetz in that category.

He also noted that Sen. Eric Schmitt (R-Missouri) served as Missouri's attorney general before being elected to Congress.

“He would have been a solid pick,” Fetterman said of Gates' selection, “and he brought a player like that to the table.” “That's nothing but trolling. You're going to get some interesting answers from your Republican colleagues about voting for this mess, or justifying your vote.”

Gaetz could face an uphill battle to win Senate confirmation.
