It's time to shake your hips!
The official theme song for Mu Deng, the internet-famous baby pygmy hippo, has been released.
Thailand's slippery zoo has been in the news for four months now, winning hearts around the world after videos of her adorable antics went viral on the internet.
Mooden fans craving more hippo content can belt out Baby River Horse's new theme song, “Mooden Mooden.”
“Moo den, moo den, boing boing boing/Mom, mom, play with me.” 50 seconds track lyrics.
“Please, mama, come and play with me, jump with me, mama,” the lyrics continue.
Mu Deng's mother, Jonah, is a fan favorite, but she is more stoic than her own child, and is seen on video mercifully ignoring her baby's seemingly constant attempts to play.
The pygmy hippopotamus of the same name can be seen in the song's video, which shows a looped video of Mu Deng tottering on wet rocks in an enclosure at Khao Kheow Public Zoo.
The harsh yet catchy song is available in multiple languages including English, Thai, Japanese, and Chinese.
This banger is the brainchild of famous Thai composer Muampet Ammara and Thai entertainment giant GMM.
Moo Deng means “bouncy pig” or “bouncy pork” and is the name of a special type of meatball originating from Thailand. Fans on social media have pointed out that the baby hippo's name is always apt as it slides, jumps, bounces, sways, rocks and fangs in live feeds and videos shared by the zoo.
Native to West Africa, the pygmy hippopotamus is classified as an endangered species, with only 2,000 to 3,000 remaining in the wild.
Mu Deng recently successfully ventured into political prediction, correctly predicting that President-elect Donald Trump will win the 2024 presidential election.
Earlier this year, “Saturday Night Live” made a fuss when it used Mu Deng's viral fame as a foil to singer-songwriter Chapel Lawn, who also rose to overnight fame this year.
