49ers’ Nick Bosa admits Trump was inspiration for celebration dance, says teammates wanted him to do it

San Francisco 49ers star Nick Bosa admitted he drew inspiration from President-elect Donald Trump during his sacking dance during Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Bosa sacked Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield on a fourth-and-23 in the fourth quarter. This led to a punt and San Francisco won 23-20.

On Wednesday, he was asked what the inspiration for this groove was.

“I think you know the answer to that question,” Bosa said, via the San Francisco Chronicle. “Everybody wanted me to do it. I wasn't going to do it either, but the boys reminded me. And it was fun.”

49ers linebacker Fred Warner walked up to Bosa and said he joined in because the dance “looked like fun.”

President Trump seems to have taken notice, praising Bosa in a post on Truth Social.

“Nick Bosa is a great player,” President Trump posted on his social media platform.

Botha has expressed support for the president-elect over the past two weeks. He wore a Make America Great Again hat after the 49ers defeated the Dallas Cowboys in Sunday night's game.

He was reportedly fined for the stunt, but he said before last week's Bucks game that it would hurt his wallet.

“It was totally worth it,” he told reporters. “I don't think my position on speaking about this issue will change. Obviously the people have spoken. We got what we got.”
