Elon Musks tells Tucker Carlson why he’s about to significantly up his security team

Tech billionaire Elon Musk finds himself in a precarious but exciting position as he prepares to co-lead the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) with Vivek Ramaswamy.

What are their plans? Significantly reduce government agencies.

But Mr. Musk knows what this means. He's trying to put a huge target on his back.

Dave Rubin plays a clip of Musk telling conservative commentator Tucker Carlson how he plans to tackle government inefficiency and what that means for his personal safety. .

“You look at all the federal agencies and say, 'Do we really need 428 federal agencies?'” Similarly, there are many that people haven't even heard of or that have overlapping areas of responsibility. Yes,” Musk told Carlson.

“There are more federal agencies than there have been in the United States since the founding of the United States,” he added. “That means on average we are creating more than one federal agency a year.” “That seems like a lot.” said.

Carlson agreed. “That's a lot.”

“I think we should be able to ignore the 99 agencies,” Musk suggested.

He further explained that the process for determining which government agencies are at risk includes “a review of regulations to determine 'which agencies are smart and which are not.'” did.

“If you have regulators every year, they're going to add more regulations,” he added. “There needs to be some garbage collection for regulations that don't make sense.”

When Mr. Tucker looked concerned, Mr. Musk added, “I think I'm saying something very obvious.”

“You're stating the obvious, which is probably very unpopular,” Tucker admitted.

“Yeah. If this were to happen, I would probably need a very large security team because someone could literally send me mail from the post office,” Musk laughed.

Dave thinks Musk's plan is great.

“I think we can cut a ton of these government agencies,” he said, adding that when he sees people like Elizabeth Warren and MSNBC whining about how bad Mr. Musk's plan is, “they're defending bureaucracy. He added that he wants people to know that he is doing so.

The truth is, “If we can cut all these jobs and make government more efficient and more transparent…then we'll have more money,” he explains.
