Jack Black's new film about a child who accidentally spells the word “Santa” and a demon is summoned has sparked an outcry from many parents on social media. paramount movies Dear Santa It's the story of a boy named Liam who tries to send his wish list to Santa, but ends up mailing it to the devil instead. The devil excitedly tells the devil, played by Black: ” according to the trailer.
Satan then gives the boy three wishes and explains, “By the way, after you make your wish, I will take your soul.”
“Let me show you some things I can do for you,” Satan says to Liam as Liam meets a famous singer at a casino and then at a Post Malone concert.
The trailer hints at a hopeful ending, with Liam asking for help to do “something out of kindness.” In response, a frustrated Satan cries out, “I have tried everything, and he is immortal.”
The trailer received a total of 12 million views and sparked discussion on Paramount Plus' Facebook page with over 7,000 comments. This film is rated PG-13 for some language and suggestive content.
“Remember, on the worst day of your life, the devil is smiling,” one person wrote. “This film is a slap in the face to Christians, considering that we are now celebrating the birth of Jesus.”
Another person wrote, “I like JB, but it's awful that he plays and promotes a devilish character with devilish actions to show kids.”
Yet another wrote incredulously: “I would never waste my time watching a movie that glorifies Satan.”
But some people wanted to see it.
“It looks great and is more fun than watching a Hallmark Christmas movie,” someone wrote.
Another wrote: “Jack Black is amazing. Can't wait to see this movie.”
“To all the people complaining about the movie, if you don't like it, don't watch it, that's why America is great, you have a choice,” a third person wrote.
Dear Santa will be released on Paramount Plus on November 25th and will also be available for purchase on home video.
