A Tennessee police officer allegedly shot and killed seven dogs with a rifle during an animal welfare inspection while their guardians were out to dinner.
Former McNairy County Sheriff's Deputy Connor Brackin went to a home in Bethel Springs, Tennessee, on November 4th after receiving a call to check on the dog. According to Atlanta News First.
Once Brackin arrived, authorities say, he allegedly opened fire on the poor puppies for no apparent reason.
The dog's owner, Kevin Dismuke, and his wife were out to dinner. According to Fox 13 Memphis.
According to the report, the couple returned home from dinner to find three of their dogs dead inside the house and four more dead outside.
“You just got out of your car with a .223 rifle and shot up my house,” Dismuke told reporters in complete disbelief.
The father of a dog with a stroke said someone called law enforcement to report his pet becoming malnourished in a vacant home.
“I don't know where they got the idea that they were malnourished or abandoned,” he told FOX 13.

“I don't have an answer to why he pulled over and did what he did. I'll never have an answer to that,” Dismuke said.
According to reports, a warrant was issued on Tuesday and the dog killer suspect turned himself in on Wednesday. He was released on bail.
The sheriff's office said Brackin had been on the job for less than a month at the time of the killing.
He was removed from his position and charged with seven counts of aggravated cruelty to animals and eight counts of reckless endangerment.
