Amanda LeeAnn Porter, 44, was arrested after an investigation revealed she was impersonating a real registered nurse who lived out of state and was working at a Los Angeles County hospital without a license. Ta.
In May 2024, Burbank Police received a tip about a woman allegedly impersonating a registered nurse at Providence St. Joseph Medical Center.
Over the next several months, investigators identified the woman as Porter, who applied for and obtained a nursing position at St. Joseph Medical Center.

Police said Porter supervised about 60 patients who received his care between April 8 and May 8. By the time Porter was fired, police said he had received two paychecks at the time. She was fraudulently hired.
Burbank police said Porter does not have a nursing license and is on federal probation for fraud committed in Virginia.
During the investigation, detectives also discovered that Porter continued to obtain employment at various hospitals in the Los Angeles area using various false identities.

“It is believed Porter may have committed additional similar crimes in the Southern California area over the past year,” police said in a news release.
On November 7, Burbank police arrested Porter in connection with an arrest warrant after he was released from the custody of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department for a similar violation allegedly committed at Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital in Santa Clarita. did.
Five days later, Porter was charged with identity theft, identity theft, and grand larceny. She was subsequently charged on November 13th and is being held without bail.
