The scene of Darren Sammy Stadium is projected through a fisheye lens. The stadium is like a police officer and is undergoing rejuvenation. In my non-expert opinion, I'm not too sure. Certainly there was less carnage than last night, when they were 56-0 at this stage. However, T20s were often dominated by wickets taken in the powerplay, and even after five overs, England were still unable to pick up any wickets, despite a mental victory.
The mistimed pull festival was canceled due to rain.
5 overs: West Indies 44-0 (Lewis 29, Hope 14) Well, I did say there are records to be broken. What I didn't expect was that West Indies would be gunning for the record for most mistimed pulls played with impunity in a T20 international powerplay. As Turner changes ends, Lewis staggers another pull and gets a single as the ball falls harmlessly into the wilderness outside the rim. West Indies then start playing properly. Hope swings for four over midwicket, Lewis finally pulls the nail and gets it. Six For that.
Suddenly remembering the records they were chasing, he picked up the four again at the wrong time. Turner, perhaps a bit enraged, threw another short ball that slammed Lewis into the helmet. Fortunately, he seems okay.
It's 16 overs…and it's raining now.
4th over: West Indies 28-0 (Lewis 18, Hope 9) Seeing these lifters embarrass the opener, Butler drops Turner and calls in Jamie Overton, a more accomplished tradesman. Lewis was once again unconvincing and once again misjudged his timing midway through, going 4 over and starting scot-free.
Yet another, better pull almost got four, but ended up with just one as Sam Curran ran around the boundary and flicked it to Jacob Bethell. Ta. Joe Barton got off to a good start.
3rd over: West Indies 23-0 (Lewis 13, Hope 9) Lewis was much better, pushing Archer's first ball over the ropes from a considerable length at first long-on. Six About that day. Archer is still in good form and takes another errant shot, this time on the bumper, and converts a shot from Hope. It's a swirling top edge sailing for four as the thin legs are raised in the circle. Archer answers with a fearless smile.
Eleven meters away is Manhattan's first skyscraper in the West Indies. It won't be the last.
2nd over: West Indies 12-0 (Lewis 6, Hope 5) My opponent is John Turner. Butler and Marcus Trescothick have shown some faith in him and it will be interesting to see if he can reciprocate that. He has pace and when he finds his moves, he beats Lewis on the outside. But then he was up just past mid-off and had four shots taken by Shai Hope, who was in horrible form last night.
1st over: West Indies 6-0 (Lewis 5, Hope 0) Evin Lewis almost crushed the second ball! He chose to pull a lifter at first slip that was too far outside and had a thick edge that even Jamie Overton couldn't reach. He now has four points, followed by one on another false shot and one on a pull, a leading edge that dives into coverage. He then ran away with a third edge before his swish missed and the ball fell to the ground, giving it to Phil Salt. Archer looks good even if you don't get all the deserts, as is often the case these days.

When you look at these teams, you wonder how England won this series. As well as home advantage, West Indies have more experience and more firepower. One answer is that England won the first three tosses and chose to chase each time.
The other thing is that the runs are very efficiently distributed. Phil Salt won the first game with a roaring 100. In the second match, Jos Buttler shook off the rust and won with an impressive score of 83. When those two big guns went silent in the third game, Sam Curran and Liam Livingstone rose to the occasion and did enough to secure the series. Jacob Bethel was also in good form and the quicks were also bowling very well, but it was the senior batsmen and all-rounders who controlled the chase.

West Indies continued to field a 10-man eleven after the tide turned last night. The only changes are Romario Shepherd replacing Obed McCoy and a shorter tail.
Two changes for England
England have shown their seriousness by bringing back two senior bowlers in Adil Rashid and Jofra Archer. Mahmoud and Archer will not be seen sharing the new ball as they will be replacing Dan Mahmood and Saquib Mahmood. But we will see the magician and his disciples Rashid and Rehan Ahmed bowling leg breaks and googly.

Welcome everyone to Act 5 of another sports drama this evening. Some may say this is no good, but that would be beside the point. In a record-loving sport like cricket, rubber never dies. And as we saw last night, the competitive juices will still continue to flow.
