Trump taps Brendan Carr to lead FCC, commends ‘great work’

President-elect Trump announced Sunday that he has selected Brendan Carr to chair the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) starting in January.

“Commissioner Carr currently serves as the FCC's senior Republican advisor. Previously, he served as the FCC's general counsel,” President Trump's statement said. “I first nominated Commissioner Kerr to serve as FCC Commissioner in 2017, and he has been unanimously confirmed by the U.S. Senate three times.”
