The “Trump dance” appears to be exploding across the NFL. It started last week when the 49ers' Nick Boas celebrated the firing of the Dolphins quarterback with a little Donald Trump dance. But now players from three other teams are joining in on the dance craze.
First up was Bosa, who showed off Trump's hilarious little two-fisted low pump after firing Baker Mayfield of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 49ers' win.
Botha later admitted that he had indeed done the Trump dance.
The similarities are unmistakable.
But this weekend we saw a dance craze take off.
Earlier in the NFL's Sunday schedule, Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers performed a version of the Trump dance while celebrating a third-quarter touchdown.
There was still more.
Za'Darius Smith and Malcolm Rodriguez of the Detroit Lions also performed a Trump dance on Sunday.
Calvin Ridley and Nick Westbrook of the Tennessee Titans also stood up and did a Trump dance after scoring a touchdown on Sunday.
Donald Trump won a landslide victory in the election earlier this month. Now, his infectious exuberance is taking the NFL by storm.
It's certainly very different from the anti-Americanism that swept the NFL in 2016 and 2017.
