Trump confirms plans to use military force to deport migrants after declaring national emergency

President-elect Donald Trump confirmed on Monday that when he returns to office, he will declare a “national emergency” using military force to deport illegal immigrants.

President Trump responded with a statement on Truth Social: “TRUE!!!” Judicial Watch's Tom Fitton responded to a post saying there were reports that he would do so.

“Good news: The report has arrived. @RealDonaldTrump “The administration is preparing to declare a national emergency and will use military assets to reverse Biden's invasion through a mass deportation program,” Fitton wrote on the social media platform.

President Trump vowed to enact the largest deportation in history from day one.

Invoking a national emergency could run into legal problems because the Posse Posse Act of 1878 limits the federal government's use of the military to enforce domestic policy.
