University of Oklahoma football coach Brent Venables' wife Julie is battling cancer again.
The Venables family first learned of Julie's cancer diagnosis in 2023. She underwent two surgeries in August and November.
On the weekly Coach Show, Venables revealed that Julie's cancer returned a few months ago. Julie has been living in Norman, Oklahoma and New York since May. She underwent surgery to remove the tumor, and Venables said she was doing “great.”
Earlier this year, before her second diagnosis, Julie told The Oklahoman that she was “cancer-free” and felt in good health.

Mr Venables praised Julie's strength and said she had the support of a “great team”.
“Her mental strength and strength is amazing,” Venables said. “We have a great team and great faith. It's in God's hands. A big part of this fight was she just wanted to keep fighting and keep swinging and that's why she That’s what I’m doing.”

Pink ribbons will be painted in both end zones, and Sooners players and coaches will head to the stadium wearing pink. Brent and Julie Venables have been married for 27 years and have four children.
