Massachusetts woman, Jeriline Brady-McGinnis, mauled to death by pit bull dog

An elderly Massachusetts woman was mauled to death by her pit bull and injured when her husband jumped in to help, friends and police said.

Jerilyn Brady McGinnis, 73, was brutally murdered by her dog inside her Roxbury home around 4:30 p.m., police said. According to WBZ News.

Her husband and two Boston police officers were also reportedly injured while attempting to handle the killer dog.

All four were rushed to the hospital, but Brady McGinnis died during surgery, his friend Gene McGuire told the station.

“She was attacked in some way and they tore her arm off,” said McGuire, 93.

Authorities said the dog was shot and then euthanized Tuesday, Boston Animal Control said. Around Boston 25.

Two officers and Brady McGinnis' spouse suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

“She's very close to animals and I think they're like children,” McGuire, a civil rights pioneer, said, according to WBZ News. “She took good care of them. She walked them every day.”

Neighbors feared Brady McGinnis' four dogs, and McGuire claimed the couple had too many pets in their home.

The police department's homicide unit is investigating the incident because the injuries were serious, the paper said.

Brady McGinnis' family remembered their loved one as having a “heart of gold.”
