Valerie Bertinelli is celebrating two years of 'freedom' after her divorce from Tom Vitale.
The Food Network alum, 64, shared a hopeful message with fans on social media Friday, saying life “will always get better” in the end.
“I didn’t know how I was going to get through it, but I knew I would get through it,” says the “Hot in Cleveland” alum. Instagram post read.
“And I did! Today marks two years since I was free. For two years, I worked through my doubts about myself and did my best to get to the other side,” Bertinelli wrote in 2022. He mentioned his ill-fated marriage to Vitale, which took place in November 2017.
“It's been two years since I realized I didn't deserve to put up with the unbearable,” she continued. “Two years of working through shame and self-loathing (still working on that part 🥴 long tail 😅). Two years of working on finding my true self.”
Bertinelli said her latest boyfriend, Mike Goodnow, who she split with after 10 months, has helped her “feel in love again.”
Bertinelli said she has spent the past two years working on herself, “facing demons and trauma from the past” in order to become her “most authentic” self.
Calling the current chapter “the last,” Bertinelli said, “Until you love yourself and accept yourself, all of your dark and light sides, you will never receive the love and emotional support that you need and deserve from others.” I'm learning that you can never be weak.” ”
“In order to share it, you have to give it to yourself first. Hey hey. I'm working on it,” she continued, adding that she is grateful to her fans and loved ones who have been there for her. I thanked them.

In November 2022, Bertinelli announced that he and Vitale were “happily divorced.”
Bertinelli met the financial planner, entrepreneur and CEO of e-commerce company Viebow in 2004, and they got engaged in March 2010.
The two got married in January 2011. After 10 years of dating, the “Valerie's Home Cooking” host filed for legal divorce from Vitale in November 2021.
