Man suffers Cardiac Arrest After Fight on Westminster Bridge

A man is in a critical condition after suffering cardiac arrest during a brawl on Westminster Bridge in central London on Sunday.

The Metropolitan Police was called to Westminster Bridge at around 10.45am local time following reports of a fight. The man was taken to the hospital and is said to be in critical condition and “fighting for his life.” daily mail reported.

Initial reports said the man had been stabbed, but the Met later clarified that this was not the case, and an investigation is underway into how the man suffered a heart attack.

The Metropolitan Broadcasting Corporation said the attack, which took place just outside the British Parliament, was being treated as an “isolated incident” and “not being treated as terrorism” at this time.

BBC reported Three people have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and a fourth on suspicion of assault in connection with the incident on Westminster Bridge.

Two of those arrested were hospitalized with minor facial injuries.

The incident has sparked fresh criticism of London Mayor Sadiq Khan over his handling of crime in the British capital.

Rupert Lowe, Member of Parliament for Reform UK, said: “London feels like an increasingly dangerous place. Stabbings, rapes, theft, all these things are now accepted as normal. It's not normal. We have to demand better. It won't.

“I don't know how Sadiq Khan sleeps at night.”
