On Sunday, services at Potter's House in Dallas were abruptly canceled after Bishop T.D. Jakes suffered a health scare while preaching.
Jakes, a well-known pastor and motivational speaker, spoke about the joy of preaching shortly before the incident. Video of the medical emergency went viral on social media shortly after the incident.
“I still love to preach. I'm never tired of preaching,” Jakes, 67, told the audience. “I miss you.”
“Have you ever gone to the hospital to see someone, and you thought it would encourage them, and they encouraged you?'' That's what preaching is about,'' he continued. , continued, “When you think you're giving something, you end up getting back more than what you give.''

Jakes then stopped talking and appeared to have a seizure as he sat in his chair staring off into the distance. Attendees rushed to the stage to help him, and the speaker asked the audience to pray for him while he was in his care.

“During today's service, Bishop TD Jakes suffered a minor health incident and immediately sought medical attention after an hour of powerful messages,” the statement said.
The update added that Jakes' condition is currently “stable and under the care of medical professionals.”
“The entire Potter's House family would like to thank you for the outpouring of love, prayers and support from the community,” the message added. “Thank you for your understanding and continued prayers.”
