Republican strategist Scott Jennings expressed concern after Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Donald Trump Jr. joked about Musk's acquisition of MSNBC on CNN. He blamed the panelists.

Apparently musk made a joke X Friday talks about the possibility of taking over the liberal-leaning 24-hour network with the newly appointed co-chair of the Department of Government Efficiency ask “How much will it cost?” President-elect Donald Trump writes, “I have the funniest idea ever,” while sharing a quote from a post discussing reports that Comcast will make MSNBC and other cable channels independent. “So, is there a concern that certain media outlets become vehicles for promoting political ideologies?” Jennings asked in response. “I mean, aren't we already doing that at scale in this country? I mean, I see what you're saying about It is the most ideologically balanced user platform of all.”

clock:

“Oh, come on. Scott, stop it. It's too early. I just sat there. Can you-” former ESPN host Cari Champion interjected, and Jennings replied, “If you tweet that after the show, it'll be embarrassing. I guess it will happen, but it's true.''

“Can we reconfigure it differently? Because the site has changed a lot, right? So, whether you think that voice is or not, it's somehow more balanced now, and that's fine. ” Cornish responded after a number of back-and-forths between Jennings and the champion. “But make no mistake, Musk's influence runs deep and he's brought it out into the open and now Musk's opinions are out there and he's now part of this administration. So, billionaires buying media companies?” Who else thinks we should have such great concerns about doing that?”

As CNN data reporter Harry Enten pointed out in a November 19 article: segment On the network, about half of Democrats and Republicans used X to follow the news.

“Would you be worried if Bill Gates controlled MSNBC?” Geraghty asked Champion, to which Champion replied, “No, because he's sane.”

“Because the 'MS' in MSNBC comes from Microsoft,” Geraghty replied. “Microsoft and NBC's partnership dates back to the 1990s, when Microsoft was under investigation by President Bill Clinton. [Department of Justice] For exclusivity. I don't remember anyone panicking about MSNBC back then. ” (Click here to watch the Daily Caller documentary “Cleaning Up Kamala”)

When Cornish pointed out that the media landscape was changing in the 1990s, Jennings responded that the real problem was that liberals had lost “control” of “institutional information flow.”

“But the problem is that the left is so used to controlling almost every organized information distribution branch in this country that when even a small part of it gets picked up, whether it's X or MSNBC or whatever, it's outrageous. “Isn't there a panic?” Jennings asked Cornish. “That means the left is used to being able to control everything.”
