Arguably the most coveted free agent in MLB history has signed a contract…but it's not what we've all been waiting for.
Juan Soto is a free agent and is only 26 years old, leading to speculation that he could sign a record-breaking contract.
But before that, Soto announced Tuesday that he has formed a partnership with energy drink company CELSIUS Live Fit.

The announcement was made on Soto's Instagram account, which posted a video of him standing in front of multiple microphones.
Soto captioned the video: “The announcement you've been waiting for.”
“This wasn't an easy decision, but after meeting with the team, it became clear to me what I wanted to be,” Soto said in the video. “Having said that…”
Soto then puts on his CELSIUS hat and concludes, “Team CELSIUS,” before opening his drink and taking a sip.
Then he put on his trolling cap.

Judge Aaron doesn't care if Juan Soto gets a big contract from the Yankees: 'It's not my money'
“What? Were you expecting a different announcement?” he joked.
This video certainly became a hot topic among fans.
One Yankees fan commented on the post: “If that's what you need to play in the Bronx for the next 10 years, I'll only drink Celsior for the rest of my life.”
“Stop playing [with] Us,” another added.
Another one I wrote was “How my heart stopped when I read the caption.''
However, one user wasn't amused by this and commented, “Going to the Mets.”
Even some of his 2024 Yankees teammates (and potentially soon-to-be former teammates) couldn't help but laugh. Anthony Rizzo and Jason Dominguez both commented with some laughing emojis.
As for Soto, the deal is easy.

“I'm excited to join Team CELSIUS, a brand that aligns with my values and provides premium products that continue to support my personal performance and health,” said Soto, the first MLB athlete to sign with the brand. “We are doing so,” he said in a statement.
“Together, we can motivate and inspire people to push beyond their personal limits and go LIVE FIT. I want to share my journey with my fans and see how CELSIUS can help us achieve our goals. I can't wait to show you how it can help.”
Five teams have reportedly made offers to Soto: the Yankees, Mets, Dodgers, Red Sox, and Blue Jays. It is speculated that he is hoping to conclude an agreement by the time the Winter Meetings are held from December 9th to 12th.
Soto was traded to the Bronx Bombers this time last year and will spend the 2024 season with them. He finished third in the American League MVP voting, his second time receiving the award from fellow outfielder Aaron Judge. However, the Yanks lost to Soto of the Dodgers in the Fall Classic.
