An Indiana school choir and drama teacher who has since been fired has been arrested on suspicion of filming himself masturbating in a classroom and sending the video to teenage girls, police said.
Kayvon H. Emtiaz, 28, recruited 13-year-old girls through social media and told them he was a “naughty teacher who was always fantasizing about his students,” according to court documents. That's what it means. Retrieved by Fox59.
He then saved some of the footage he obtained from the underage girls and used it in his lewd fantasies, according to the documents.
Police in Avon, a suburb just west of Indianapolis, began the investigation in September after receiving a cyber tip from Snapchat that a “trusted person” was downloading child pornography in the area.
Around the same time, investigators heard rumors that an Avon School District teacher was masturbating on campus.
Police executed search warrants on two Snapchat accounts, “kavman105” and “fiftyshadedaddy.” Files stored on those accounts included a video of a man masturbating behind a desk in “what appears to be a music classroom,” the documents said.
Investigators say the videos were sent to other accounts on the app. Other files discovered included sexual videos of underage girls.
Court documents say Emtiaz told the 13-year-old girls he was from Indiana and fantasized about locking them behind a locked door after class and abusing them. .
Investigators said the internet server the teacher was using was connected to several other social media accounts, all named “kemtiaz.”
The Indianapolis resident was questioned by police last Thursday and admitted to using both Snapchat accounts. He confessed that he had conversations with underage girls on the app, but couldn't remember all of them in detail.
He said he keeps videos of underage girls to masturbate to when he fantasizes about his students.
When police searched his phone after the interview, they found the exact child pornography file that had been sent to him by one of the 13-year-old girls in the “hidden” section of the photo app.
Mtiaz was charged with 10 counts of possession of child pornography, two counts of solicitation of a child, and one count of quid pro quo for sexual gratification.
He posted $40,000 bail and was released from jail on Monday after an initial court hearing. A jury trial is scheduled for February 10, 2025, Fox59 reports.
Ms. Emtiaz taught at three different elementary and middle schools in the Avon Community School Corporation from November 2019 to December 2022, and continued to work in the district as a choir and drama coach.
Once the school learned of the allegations, his extracurricular activities were “immediately terminated.”
“We are not aware of any allegations linking these charges to Avon students,” district spokesperson Kevin Carr told the outlet.
