The nature of their discussion was not immediately known.

Police said the attack occurred nearly three months after a 33-year-old man was stabbed and robbed during a dispute over food inside the iconic green space.

According to authorities, the victim was on the north side of the park on Aug. 15 at around 9:30 p.m. when the altercation broke out.

Felony assaults in particular are down about 17% so far this year, with 152 such crimes reported compared to 182 during the same period last year.
