of minnesota timberwolves They entered the season as a team looking to build on their dark horse run to last year's Western Conference Finals, but they're ending November hoping only to stay in playoff contention, and franchise star Anthony It's safe to say Edwards isn't happy about it.
Less than a week after an on-court altercation between Julius Randle and Rudy Gobert exploded in the middle of a close game, the normally innocent Edwards called out his “trash” team (for that assessment) after the game. (including myself). Lost 115-104 to Sacramento Kings:
Ant had a lot to say tonight. I'll write about it tonight. He says it feels like the team is drifting further and further apart. That they can no longer speak to each other. It's everyone, he doesn't single out newcomers. I said everyone has their own schedule now.

Ant: “We get up and everyone cheers and makes a fuss. We come down again and no one says a word. That's the definition of a favorite. As a team, myself included, we were all favorites tonight. It was a no-brainer.'', that's for sure. “

Anthony Edwards: “No matter how many people there are, all 15 of us are just going into our own shells and distancing ourselves from each other. It's obvious. We see it. I see it. , the team can see it. Coaches can see it.”

Anthony Edwards (2/2): ” … just a bunch of little kids. It's like we play with little kids. Everybody, the whole team. We talk to each other. And we have to understand that because we can't continue down this path. ”

Anthony Edwards: “The fans are booing us. That's crazy, man. We're being booed in our home arena. It's so disrespectful and crazy.”
I kind of understand him. Now this is all frustrating. However, I feel like the trigger is a little early.

With the loss to the Kings, the Timberwolves dropped their record to 8 wins and 10 losses, currently in 12th place in the Western Conference. But suffice it to say, it's not just the record that Edwards is upset about. As summarized by our own Ryan Eichten at Canis Hoopus: The Timberwolves continue to lose in increasingly painful ways.. After a strong third quarter, Minnesota completely turned it around Wednesday night.
The Kings went on a 29-6 run, including scoring on 10 consecutive possessions late in the game, to beat the Timberwolves 115-104, snapping their fourth straight loss.
It's not immediately clear how things will turn out for the Wolves. They haven't suffered any major injuries, but their chemistry seems to be much worse than last year's magical season. Losing Karl-Anthony Towns to an offseason salary dump (which was clearly designed to save ownership) was always expected to hurt the offense, but it also hurt their defense. There was no need to collapse league's first to 12th.
Before tonight, it would have been expected that the Wolves would normalize a bit from this slump – and maybe they wouldn't stick around just yet. this I'm sorry, but if Edwards doesn't publicly criticize the entire team like this and ignite a spark to turn things around, we could be in for a hell of a season sooner than you can say “Front Runners.” be. But he's not as fast as Edwards.
