Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy had some tense and memorable exchanges during his 2024 White House press conference with press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.
Tensions erupt in the briefing room every time Jean-Pierre visits Fox News correspondents, in between pressing questions about President Joe Biden's age, Vice President Kamala Harris' election loss, or the border crisis. It continued to boil.
Sparks fly after KJP condemns foolish act of spreading 'misinformation'
As Hurricanes Helen and Milton devastated areas in the southeastern United States, Doocy asked why Biden needed Congressional approval to send money to North Carolina, but why did he send one to Lebanon without Congress in session? I wondered if I could transfer $57 million. Jean-Pierre squarely accused Doocy of spreading “misinformation,” leading to a uniquely tense exchange.
“But President Biden likes to say, 'Show me your budget and tell me what you value.'” If he has money for the Lebanese people, what does that say about his values? Right now, there is not enough money for people in North Carolina who need it,” Doocy said. “That's not a false alarm.”
“No, that's right. The entire premise of your question is false information,” the spokesperson said.
“Excuse me?” Doocy pushed back.
The spokesperson claimed the administration had sent $200 million to civilians in affected areas, and Doocy cited a letter from Biden to House Speaker Mike Johnson, saying that Congress would be in session and that additional He claimed to have requested approval for hurricane funds. Johnson said there was no need for Congress to come back from recess, but he assured the Federal Emergency Management Agency that he had allocated an additional $20 billion just before Hurricane Helen made landfall.
Doocy told Jean-Pierre straight up that he couldn't classify questions he didn't like as “misinformation.”
“You can't call a question you don't like a false alarm. That's crazy,” Doocy continued, while Jean-Pierre continued to defend the administration's response to the hurricane.

KJP accuses Doocy of political bias

“You know, I have to say this is a little bit confusing to me because if you look at what this president has done over the last three years, the historic legislation, right? “Who is my favorite president?” Doocy shot back, and the press secretary suggested it was already common knowledge.
Although Jean-Pierre tried to convince everyone that Biden's mental state was as sharp as ever, the American public believed that Biden's mental state and abilities were declining. These perceptions were reinforced after Biden's dismal performance in the June 27 debate, prompting Democrats to call on him to withdraw from the 2024 race.

KJP clearly irritated by Biden and Harris' 'awkward' lunch issue
After Harris lost to President-elect Donald Trump, she attended a private lunch with Biden at the White House a week after the election. Doocy irritated Jean-Pierre by asking him how “awkward” the meeting between the president and vice president was, given the circumstances.
“We know that President Biden and Vice President Harris had a private lunch today, a week after the election. How awkward was that? Doocy asked.
“I don't even know. Why would that be awkward?” Jean-Pierre asked. “Why would you characterize it as awkward? They have lunch regularly, they regularly… We meet and talk. Why do you call it awkward?
Doocy said Biden withdrew from the race to allow Harris to run and was kept “at arm's length” only to watch Harris lose to Trump.
“So, is there anything unusual about the way things are unfolding?'' Doocy continued.
“Did you see that they were together yesterday as well during the day to honor our veterans and make sure we don't forget the brave men and women who fought for this country?” Jean-Pierre responded . “Were you together yesterday? Did you see the show of force together? This is…I'm not even going to accept the premise of this question. What I'm saying is, the president and vice president had lunch today. , have had lunch there many times, they are regular I've been in touch with them and I've had the opportunity to talk to them about the last 70 days or so of this administration. That's their focus, to get things done for the American people. That’s the real focus.”

Doocy Stuns KJP asks about Kamala Harris' fake Southern accent
Jean-Pierre looked incredulous when Doocy asked about Harris' accent during a campaign campaign. speech It was sent to union members in Detroit, Michigan and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in early September.
“When did the vice president start sounding like a Southern accent?” Doocy asked.
“I don't know what you're talking about,'' Jean-Pierre replied. “I mean, this is… I mean, can you hear the question you’re asking?” [asking]do you think people seriously think this is an important question? Do you know what they care about? They care about the economy, they care about cutting costs, they care about health care, and that's what Americans care about. That's what they want to hear. they want to hear. ”
Jean-Pierre, clearly irritated, said, “I hear” his question.[ed] That's very stupid,'' Doocy said when asked if he had said that during the White House meeting. The press secretary quickly moved on to the next reporter.

Doocy asks KJP Point Blank who covered up Biden's cognitive decline after dropping out
After Biden withdrew from the race, Doocy told Jean-Pierre during the July 24 debate that the White House and liberal media spent months assuring Americans that Biden was in good mental health. He later asked him to name the person who covered up Biden's cognitive health.
“It appears that the people in this White House knew that President Biden was making a gaffe and that it was being hidden from the American people,” Doocy began. “So who ordered White House officials to cover up a declining president?”
“I know that's your favorite story,” Jean-Pierre said, followed by Doocy's interjection. “Okay, you're asking two multiple questions here. Wait, wait. First of all, there's no cover-up. I want to be clear about that. That's what you guys want. I know it's a story about
