Dow Jones Today: Stock Futures Inch Higher as Market on Pace to Close Out a Winning Month – Investopedia

Stock futures are up slightly on Friday as the stock market looks to recover from its pre-Thanksgiving slump.

Futures tracking the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.3%, while futures tracking the S&P 500 and Nasdaq rose 0.2%. The S&P 500 snapped a seven-session winning streak on Wednesday as investors digested a flurry of earnings reports and economic data, sending stocks lower heading into the holidays. The major indexes are on track to end November on a solid note, thanks to a post-election rally that sent stock prices to consecutive highs.

No notable corporate or economic announcements are scheduled for Friday, a shortened trading day for stock and bond markets. But investors will be keeping an eye on news about how consumers behave on Black Friday, one of the busiest shopping days of the year.

Large-cap tech stocks were mixed in premarket trading. Nvidia (NVDA), Amazon (AMZN), and Tesla (TSLA) rose, while Apple (AAPL), Microsoft (MSFT), Alphabet (GOOGL), and Metaplatform (META) fell slightly.

Bitcoin was trading near $97,200, up from overnight lows below $96,000. Bitcoin has rallied nearly 40% since the U.S. election amid investor optimism that President Trump and a crypto-friendly Congress will advance policies that benefit the asset class.

Gold futures rose about 0.5% to around $2,680 an ounce, while crude oil futures were little changed.

The 10-year Treasury yield, which correlates with investors' expectations about where interest rates will go, traded at 4.20%, down from 4.24% on Wednesday and its lowest level this month.
