Baby’s adorable reaction to his new glasses attracts worldwide attention: ‘Melts hearts’

A video shared on social media of a baby reacting to new glasses has gained attention around the world and has been viewed more than 100 million times on TikTok and Instagram.

The baby's mother, Stephanie Mazzone Meyer, posted a video of 1-year-old Liam Frederick trying on new glasses, and it was clear he liked what he saw. (See the video at the top of this article.)

Mazzone-Meyer spoke exclusively to Fox News Digital about the experience.

She said she and her husband were driving from their home in New York to Wisconsin when the videos started appearing.

“I slowly started getting attention on my personal Instagram, so I decided to upload a video to TikTok during that trip,” she said.

“I fell asleep during a 16-hour car ride and woke up with hundreds of thousands of views, then just a few hours later it had over 1 million views, and eventually over 75 million views.” she said.

So far, the video has been shared by news programs in many countries, including Italy, Chile, Spain, and the Netherlands.

“This is the best video I've ever seen.”

Mazzone-Meyer said the comments she received were heartwarming, with one person commenting, “This is the best video I've ever seen.”

Another commented: “I was having a rough week but watching my son's video made my day better,” while another said: “Crying at work is ugly!” .

The mother said: “My video will help other parents focus on their baby's eye health and prioritize optometrist appointments if they notice something visually abnormal or notice cross-eyed eyes.'' It also helped me.”

He added: “My hope is that Liam brings joy to others, and the same joy he brings to us every day. He has experienced so much in his short time earthside. Even now, I can still smile when you see me.'' towards him. ”

She also said, “He radiates goodness, and I think the comments we receive every day bear that out.”

“He's a totally different baby.”

Mazzone-Meyer said because Liam had an abnormal intrauterine scan and was born prematurely, his pediatrician and care team recommended a number of tests after his three-week stay in the NICU. One of them was an optometrist appointment.

At the first examination, the baby's eyes appeared slightly farsighted, but there was no need to worry.

His doctor scheduled a follow-up appointment in a few months, at which point it was determined that he needed glasses immediately.

Mazzone-Meyer said Liam was a baby who was always smiling.

Since her baby got new glasses, she's noticed that he smiles more, grabs more things, and plays more (if that's possible).

“He's a completely different baby with new specs,” Mazzone Meyer said.

Mazzone-Meyer added, “We all know that people are going through difficult times in America and around the world. Liam's videos bring joy, happiness and positivity into people's daily lives.”
