“Dynasty” and “Days of Our Lives” Actor Wayne Northrop Dead At 77

Wayne Northrop, actor of “Dynasty” and “Days of Our Lives,” has died at the age of 77.

Northrop spokeswoman Cynthia Snyder said Mr. Northrop died at the Motion Picture and Television Woodland Hills Home after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.

“Wayne was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's disease six years ago. He passed away in the arms of his family,” Northrop's wife, Lynn Herring Northrop, said in a statement.

“We would like to thank The Motion Picture and Television Home, the most caring and wonderful place, for taking such great care of him,” she added. “Wayne touched the lives of many with his sense of humor and wit. He was my husband of 43 years, the best father to our two sons, Hank and Grady, his love of cattle and his love for many. He was also a rancher who was a friend of

Northrop played Detective Roman Brady on Days of Our Lives from 1981 to 1984 and again from 1991 to 1994.

The actor also appeared in the General Hospital spin-off Port Charles from 1997 to 1998 as Rex Stanton.

His other well-known role was as Michael Culhane in Dynasty. He appeared on the ABC soap opera from 1981 to 1987.

Northrop has appeared in the TV movies “Never Say Never: The Deirdre Hall Story” and “The Haunting of Lisa,” as well as the shows “LA Firefighters” and “Cold Case.”
