Eli Manning fans flames of Tom Brady rivalry after legendary QB posts shirtless fishing pic

The rivalry between Tom Brady and Eli Manning may no longer face each other head-to-head on the football field, after the latter poked fun at the latter's recent social media posts. It continues to intensify in hilarious ways.

Brady posted a carousel on Instagram showing off what he did over Thanksgiving weekend. Among them was a photo of him shirtless from a fight in the ocean.

Brady captioned the post, “It was a little warmer in Buffalo last night than it looked,” referring to the snowstorm that blew through during Sunday night's game between the Buffalo Bills and San Francisco 49ers in Orchard Park, New York. .

But Brady's shirtless photo was the subject of Manning's X post, which featured a photo of himself fishing next to a photo of the New England Patriots legend, which caused many people to go nuts.

“Pretty minnow, Tom!” Manning wrote, implying that the fish he caught were bigger and better.

Brady, who had lost two Super Bowl games against Manning's New York Giants, wasn't going to let that happen. So he responded with a post.

“Are you using a helmet to catch that thing?” Brady said.

This, of course, refers to David Tyree's catch in Super Bowl XLII. There, Manning threw a desperate 32-yard pass to Tyree, who was in tight coverage and needed his helmet to make the catch.

The catch has gone down in history as one of the most important in NFL history, extending the Super Bowl-winning drive that Manning scored on Plaxico Burress for a touchdown with seconds left in the fourth quarter.

That year, the Giants, a wild card entry from the NFC, defeated the undefeated Patriots.

The teams later met again in Super Bowl 46, but Brady's Hail Mary at the end of the game wasn't as magical as Tyree's catch, and once again the Giants were upset on the turf.

Brady's career is now legendary, with many considering him the greatest player of all time. However, Manning is considered one of the best players in crunch time at the quarterback position after his years with the Giants, and beating Brady in those two Super Bowls is considered by many to be an accomplishment. It is an incredible feat.

So these two have been teasing each other ever since their playing days ended, and of course it's all in good fun. Brady recently brought this up on Fox's broadcast of the Giants' Thanksgiving game against the Dallas Cowboys.

While Brady is certain to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in his first year on the upcoming ballot, there is much debate over whether Manning should get a statue in Canton, Ohio, which is currently in the process this year.
