Establishmentists, distressed by the prospect of having little or no representation in the next administration, have spent weeks attacking several of President-elect Donald Trump's nominees to lead key federal agencies.
President Trump's pick to lead the Pentagon, Pete Hegseth, has been subjected to excessive abuse, and former National Security Council official Kash Patel has similarly become a top target for status quo advocates. Among them is Olivia Troy, a mid-level operative of the George Intelligence Agency. He later served as an advisor to former Vice President Mike Pence in the W. Bush administration.
This week, in a conversation with identitarian MSNBC host Joy Reid, Troy lashed out at Patel. Despite being used to dropping verbal bombshells without fear of personal repercussions, like much of the liberal media, Pence's former adviser quickly received legal notice. Troy responded by playing the victim and bemoaning the situation that could lead to him being responsible for the Talking Heads' accusations.

Troy was an ardent critic of Trump, defended censorship in Congress and supported Kamala Harris. said Reid said Monday that anonymous unelected officials in Washington, D.C., believe Patel is dangerous.
“I worked with Kash Patel in the White House. I was Vice President Mike Pence's counterterrorism advisor, so I had to coordinate with Kash a lot. Kash Patel is paranoid. He's a liar. I want to make that clear.” Troy said. “And he's going to lie about the intelligence. He's going to lie about the fabrications about the operation. I think Mark Esper has talked about that, too. When it comes to Nigeria, he's going to lie about the operations and put the lives of Navy SEALs at risk. I exposed it.”
“This is a complete fabrication.”
“At some point, I realized I needed to check Kash's work to make sure I wasn't relying on Kash's words and giving Mike Pence false information. So I decided to check his I had to go around. And this is a man who openly disrespects the people of national security, especially the people at the Justice Department and the FBI. ”
Troy added: “There is some fear here from people who know that someone like Kash Patel is fully capable of conducting just a partisan investigation, no matter what is needed.'' “If he became FBI director, he would be insane.''

Jesse Vinal of Vinal Law Group, who represents Patel, said:
sent a letter On Wednesday, he threatened Troy's attorney with legal action against the MSNBC guest unless Troy publicly recanted his “defamatory statements.”
The legal notice further warns Troy that he is “in any way connected with Mr. Patel. [her] Said about him on MSNBC. ”
Mr Vinal focused on Mr Troy's claim that Mr Patel “lies about his intelligence activities”. that he would “lie about making things up about the operation.” that he had given false information to Mr. Pence; And he said he “put the lives of Navy SEALs at risk.”
“This is a complete fabrication,” Vinal wrote. “And by virtue of your previous position in the White House, you know that's false. Mr. Patel has never lied about national intelligence at any point, nor has he been a Navy SEAL. endangering or You did not misinform the President, and while you not only had actual knowledge but also criticized the falsehood of this slur, you are disparaging his character and doing cynical self-promotion. He did it maliciously.”
“You can't stand it, your lawyer can't stand it either.”
Vinall said, noting that Troy smeared former acting director of national intelligence Richard Grenell in 2022, saying, “Of course, you've been working with us before to spread lies about President Donald J. Trump's associates. “This is not the first time that someone's title has been stolen.” That led to a defamation lawsuit.
Grenell's complaint
shown Troy, who claimed that Grenell tried to get Pence to attend a white supremacist event while overseas, is a “disgruntled former public servant who has engaged in a malicious smear campaign against political opponents.” Ta.
Patel is expected to take legal action unless Troy retracts his comments in a public statement about X by next week.
hangover
When Troy received the legal notice, he let out a cry of injustice.
states For X, say “This is [Patel’s] Threats to the media and political opponents, and how he would act if confirmed for the role. ”
“I stand by what I said. My priority remains the safety and security of the American people,” Troy continued. “I'm not the only one expressing concerns about him. So why me? And so it begins.”
Georgia Republican Party account
provided A possible answer to Troy's “Why me?” would be, “Probably because you slandered him on national television.”
said Jeff Clark, former assistant attorney general in the Department of Justice's Environment and Natural Resources Division.
answered To Troy, “You are intolerable, and neither are your lawyers.'' The good news is that your MSNBC platform is an oasis pod that is rapidly dehydrating right before our eyes. Ratings go down the drain. “We never miss you when we're channel surfing.'' We get to see you less and less. ”
Troy is not the only former federal operative to drum up concerns about Patel on MSNBC and similar liberal media organizations.
Frank Figliuzzi, former deputy director for counterintelligence at the Federal Bureau of Investigation and current contributor to MSNBC,
noticed On Tuesday, Patel said he sounded like a “wannabe police officer planning to make false arrests and fabricate evidence,” and the FBI resumed illegal wiretapping, threats and threats of suicide against civil rights leaders. He hinted that it was a possibility.
“I think it would be extremely, extremely dangerous to have someone like Kash Patel in the FBI director's position,” former FBI special agent Daniel Brunner told CNN last month.
Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, who undermined Trump's presidency with Crossfire Hurricane,
said CNN said Sunday: “At this point, we can only assume that Kash Patel's appointment or nomination as FBI Director is a plan to disrupt, dismantle, and distract the FBI, and perhaps use it as a tool.” Reported. This is because of the president's political agenda. ”
