The New York Red Bulls entered MLS Cup as underdogs, but could not beat the odds.
New York couldn't overcome a two-goal deficit early on as the LA Galaxy won 2-1 on Saturday to take the league championship.
Josef Paintsil (9 minutes) and Dejan Jovezic (13 minutes) got the Galaxy off to a fast start at Dignity Health Sports Park, and despite a push from the Red Bulls, they were unable to score the equalizer. I couldn't.

Sean Niels scored a goal in the 28th minute for the Red Bulls, but it wasn't enough to qualify for their first MLS Cup appearance since 2008.
