Olympic gold medalist Tamyra Mensah-Stock says she will only wrestle biological men ‘in practice’

Olympic gold medalist Tamira Mensah-Stock has spoken out about the controversy surrounding biological males in women's sports, telling Fox News Digital that she only wrestles men during practice.

The 6th Annual FOX Nation Patriot Awards aired Sunday night at 10pm ET on Fox News Channel. Prior to this historic event, FOX News Digital spoke with Mensah-Stock at the Till's Center for the Performing Arts in Brookville, New York.

“No, thankfully, but I know some people who do,” Menserstock said when asked if she had ever played a match with someone of the opposite sex.

Although Mensah-Stock hasn't completely ruled out the possibility of competing against a biological male in WWE, he dismissed the idea of competing against a male in freestyle wrestling.

“Well, I'll tell you this: I've wrestled a lot of guys in practice, and I'll only ever wrestle in practice, because even if they're 20 pounds smaller than me, “It's very difficult,” she said. “So, as if they were the same weight as me…I just maintain it in practice.”

WWE officials confirmed in May that Mensah-Stock had signed a contract. She became an Olympic champion at the 2021 Tokyo Games, becoming the first black woman to win a gold medal in freestyle wrestling.

After his win in Tokyo, Mensah-Stock draped the Stars and Stripes over his shoulders and said the now famous line, “I love representing the United States, I really love living there, I love it.'' , and I'm very happy to be able to participate in this competition, representing America! ”

The debate over biological masculinity in women's sports continues to dominate the conversation surrounding athletics.

The Supreme Court recently heard a challenge to Tennessee's ban on gender reassignment surgery for minors. Legal scholars suggest the decision could shape the future of women's sports and serve to prevent biological males from competing with female athletes for generations to come.
