‘Sick To My Stomach’: Crash Kills Motorist As Police Respond To Alleged Bomb Threat Against GOP Rep

Rome Police Department (RPD) officers were responding to a bomb threat at the home of Republican Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene when a car crash occurred, killing one driver, officials said. .

RPD said Atlanta News first reported that a woman was killed in a vehicle accident involving a police officer who was responding to the incident. According to the Georgia State Patrol, Tammy Pickelsimer, 66, passed in front of the officer's car.

Green took social media Monday night, instead of a woman.

“I am heartbroken right now. Today I was informed that an innocent woman was killed in a car accident involving members of the Rome Police Bomb Squad who were responding to a threat at her home,” Green said. wrote to X.

“My prayers are with Tammy Pickelsimer, her family, the injured officer, and the entire Rome Police Department,” she added.

The lawmaker blamed the bomb threat for Pickelsimer's death, saying that's why police cars were there at the time.

“These violent political threats have deadly consequences and are an undue burden on law enforcement, which must treat them seriously. They responded, and now a woman has lost her life to this despicable act,” Green wrote.

“The perpetrator of this crime committed murder in our small community of Rome, Georgia,” the congressman continued.

The post included a video of a man, apparently wearing hazmat gear, inspecting a mailbox. The timestamp indicates that the video was recorded yesterday afternoon.

The lawmaker wrote that police should not be responding to bomb threats like the one she allegedly received. She thanked the RPD for addressing the threat allegations against her and putting themselves at risk to serve the city.

“I'm sick to my stomach, but I'm also angry. This should never have happened and I pray it never happens again,” Green wrote.

The Daily Caller reached out to Rome police for comment, but did not receive a response.
