Randy Moss’ son responds to ‘disgusting’ rumor about father’s health

Randy Moss' son Thaddeus debunked reports that his father was diagnosed with liver cancer.

Larry Fitzgerald Sr., father of former Cardinals star Larry Fitzgerald, and Brett Favre tweeted Tuesday that Moss had been diagnosed with the disease.

Lundy recently stepped down from his duties on ESPN's “Sunday NFL Countdown” for undisclosed health reasons.

Since Randy revealed on December 1st that he was “struggling with something inside,” many people have been offering prayers and support for him.

The NFL Hall of Famer did not provide details, but the 47-year-old urged individuals to undergo blood tests and medical exams.

“I just wanted to let the viewers know, me and my wife, me and my family, we're all fighting something internally,” Moss said on ESPN's “Sunday NFL Countdown.” “I have some great doctors around me. I couldn't have missed the show. I wanted to be here with you all. It feels great.

“But when you guys see me wearing those Michigan Success glasses, it's not disrespectful because I'm on TV. I'm fighting something. Everything. We need prayer warriors.”

ESPN then announced last Friday that Moss would be sidelined “for an extended period of time to focus on personal health issues.”

Fitzgerald Sr., a reporter in the Minnesota area, posted Tuesday night that he had heard that Randy had been diagnosed with liver cancer.

“At the 66th NFF Hall of Fame induction ceremony here in Las Vegas, we heard that Vikings HOF Randy Moss was suffering from liver cancer. The power of prayer pulled Moss through this difficult time. 🙏🙏🙏. I love you.” He posted at 9:39 p.m.

The news reached Favre, who played with Randy in Minnesota, and he first posted on X: “I heard the news that Randy Moss has liver cancer. My prayers go out to him and his family. 🙏Randy was and always will be one of the all-time greats to ever run the route. He's definitely the NFL's WR Mount Rushmore.

But 16 minutes after Thaddeus tweeted, he changed his message.

“Prayers to Randy Moss and his family 🙏,” Favre posted. “Randy was and always will be one of the all-time greats to run routes. He's definitely the NFL's WR Mount Rushmore.”

Favre responded to Thaddeus' tweet with a praying hands emoji, eliciting a “thank you” to the younger Moss.

Thaddeus, 26, spent his career with the Bengals and Commanders, but never appeared in an NFL game after starring at LSU. He announced his retirement in May with.

His father was one of the NFL's greatest receivers, a highlight reel human who could score from anywhere on the field at any time. He scored 156 touchdowns in his 14-season career.
